Samoa Surveillance
April 13th, 2009
About a week ago I developed a craving for Samoas. The girl scout cookie. And it wasn’t just a craving. It was a CRAVING. Must have samoa. We obviously don’t know any girl scouts, or anyone that had any on hand (Except my friend Helen who refused to drive some down from poughkeepsie because she had to “work”. whatevs, hel.) So I started an internet search to see if I could mail order myself some. No luck. I also emailed the girl scouts but they never emailed me back. The samoa crisis was reaching pretty high levels.
The next step was looking up recipes and got the idea that Matthew should make them. Apparently they are just shortbread, caramel and coconut with a little chocolate coating. Dee-lish!
Then what do we have here? Lo and behold on the way home from lunch the next day we came across this sight…Girl scouts selling cookies in front of the supermarket!

I didn’t want to be too obvious with the picture taking what with all the parents around and all but did manage to get a few undercover photos. When I handed over my change as a donation to charity the girl who sold me my precious cookies squeeled. What’s $5 for a box of cookies and a happy 12 year old? Its was totally worth it.
