10 days into parenthood and we are still alive!

My mom changed her plans and came here the day we got home from the hospital which is really fortunate as it turns out my um, injuries were quite a bit more than expected (but we can get into that later)

The first week went by so quickly, it was definitely a blur.  I finally started feeling better towards the end of this week but I still can’t do much besides sit on the couch. My mom leaves tomorrow but Matthew’s mom comes next Saturday which is great because honestly, keeping up with the laundry alone is practically a full time job. Hoping that by the time she gets here I’ll feel good enough to get to a movie. If someone cooperates of course. My goal for my mom’s stay is a pedicure and she’s leaving tomorrow so I need to get on it if its going to happen.

Besides doing all of our laundry and straightening up my mom also takes Asher for a few hrs in the morning between feedings so we can get a bit of sleep, it is a lifesaver!  He has been pretty good most nights but we’ve had some crazy times that have led to tears (mine) All in all we are working things out, learning about each other and having so much fun in the process. I don’t know if we are just giddy due to lack of sleep but we are laughing so much all the time at just about everything around here. 

With Mimi (or mimzi, or…whatever – my mom wanted a cute nickname, we’ll see where this ends up)
