Thankfully John McCain did not win the presidency. Now THAT would have been a “very sad day”

Nothing enrages me more than rich old white dudes spewing their ignorant opinion on things that don’t even affect their life. I mean if you only know rich old white dudes you can’t possibly imagine why anyone would want things to change.

Lesson to all: Go outside. Meet people. People that do not look like you. People that do not do all the same thing that you do. People that grew up across town, across the country, across the world. Appreciate them. Learn from them. Tell your friends about them. Teach your children about them. Report back.

a fair trade?

My father-in-law is in town for work this weekend but we haven’t seen much of him. In fact, he dropped these off at 3:30 and I haven’t heard from him since.

There might be one or 2 missing when he returns. Or more depending when on when he shows up. Not making any promises!

Most are a bit off color (blame apple!) But I can’t stop laughing out loud.

cupcake kind of day

Today was a bit dreary to say the least. It poured off and on and never got the slightest bit sunny. It was windy and cold. At around 4pm I took a work break (I’ve been working from home mon-thurs) and went over to a new coffee place up the street to check out their wares.

Truth be told, I heard they had Robicelli’s Cupcakes and I haven’t had one since July. Now that there is a place carrying them in walking distance I thought I’d just mosey on over to their baked goods case and see what Allison and Matt are doing for fall.

Well fall is a rockin time in Robicelli land. I picked up an awesome looking Butternut squash cupcake:

and then couldn’t resist the Pumpkin one either, its Matthews faaaavorite:

Ok? Yeah I thought so.

Don’t worry, I managed to find something for myself:

Tiramisu: Espresso cake soaked with espresso syrup, topped with espresso ganache, mascarpone buttercream and dusted with cocoa powder

If you want to learn more about the adorable Robicellis they were featured on Food Curated today. Like Allison says, they are not just cupcakes, they are a desert in cupcake form.

This video is really inspiring – They sort of fell into cupcake baking and just want want to make people happy with cupcakes! They win!
