This morning I learned you should not plug your $200 hair iron in while you are still half asleep. Fried. My hair will look scary all week. It’ll have to do!

This afternoon I learned they don’t have american sized 3 hole punch paper here and that I should have shipped 2 cases. Oops. The PA is manually punching ream after ream of A4. It’ll have to do :\

This evening I learned not to stay out an extra hour after working a 15hr day. Tired. Only getting 4 hrs sleep tonight. It’ll have to do?

Its nice and cool here but not too cold and there are palm trees.

The coffee is good.

Everything smells like the ocean.

I missed posting yesterday which is too bad but know what else I missed? Sleeping. I have been up for 25 hours. Booooooooo!

on the hunt: sheets

We desperately need new bedsheets. Our old ones are just that. Old. I’m bored of them. They are white on white stripe and nice enough, but I’m thinking I want a little color up in here.

Our walls are the lightest of the light purple - so light that you think it’s white until you look at it against the white trim.

Our rug is the Jackson Stripe

Our furniture is Farmhouse

I want to stay with something light to counteract the dark furniture and partial brick wall.

I am very into the grey and yellow combo but I’m having a hard time finding something that works. This is my current favorite set - Dwell Studio Draper Ash

But striped sheets with a striped rug? It won’t work.

I kind of like this set from Target but really do not need a duvet cover. Why do they have so many duvet cover options and no bedding options?

UPDATE: I kind of really like both of these at crate and barrel.

Maybe I should just get white striped sheets. They have them EVERYWHERE.

olympic overload

Can you believe the Olympics are over? Its such a let down after all these days of excitement. I kept thinking “I wish the olympics were always on!” but who has the time?? I stayed up way too late every night and went to work with an olympic hangover. Plus our TV must be so relieved. That thing got a work out this month! We barely turn the TV on normally, and then we are watching 5hrs a day? Its kind of nice that I won’t feel the pressure to watch, but also sad. I know you know what I’m feelin.

The olympics were even a bit more exciting this year, being in Matthew’s hometown. Not to mention his dad and a whole bunch of our friends were working there so the emails, tweets, status updates and phone calls really kept us in the loop.

Asher supported his brothers and sisters from the north by showing his Canadian pride at mealtimes

We’re grooming him for a life in sports, obviously.

OWN THE PODIUM! or the bumbo. Whatever.

On another note

Due to my lameness in posting I decided to challenge myself and do another round of NaBloPoMo. If you remember November, it means I have to post every day for the month of March. This is going to be super scary and intense because I am going onsite on Friday and will be working 16hr days all of next week. In another country. Hopefully I can write up some posts in advance!

Expect to be seeing some flashback photos from the past 10 weeks - I definitely slacked on a bunch of cute moments. I can’t wait to share them with you.
